Temple of Vesta
In the park of Villa Belmonte there is a pavilion in the shape of a temple of Vesta, used as a coffee-house, consisting of a cell, covered by a dome, a Corinthian peristyle with neo-Pompeian paintings and equipped with an underground room. Not far, in a corner of the park, there are the remains of the octagonal neo-Gothic temple, probably designed by Alessandro Marvuglia. The structure is visible from the road that climbs to Monte Pellegrino. The garden facing the sea was decorated with a fake temple ruin. |
